Approach to psychological treatment is cognitive-behavioral, dynamic, problem focused, short and long term psychotherapy.  Population served:  youth, adults, couples, families.  Special areas of interest are troubled adolescents, adolescents with school and family problems, marital and couple's therapy, adolescent and adult ADHD, depression and suicide in adolescents and adults, both men's and women's issues, family mediation in child custody and visitation, and divorce coaching in collaborative practice.¬

Inpatient:  Team psychologist for an open adolescent unit modeled for the treatment of borderline adolescents; individual and group psychotherapy; case and consultation to unit nursing staff; consultations with families and social/legal agencies.

Supervision: Clinical Psychology Interns. January 1978 - November 1979:  
Psychologist and Program Director, North Florida Evaluation and Treatment  Center, Sex Offender Unit.  Program Director for an 18-bed treatment unit within the sex offender program which included clinical supervision of 13  paraprofessional staff (Master's level).  Co-director and therapist for a 9-patient pre-release program.  Supervisor and consultant for clinical staff in the diagnostic and evaluation sex offender unit. 
January 1978 - November 1979:   Psychotherapist, private practice.  Individual and group work, including small group for adolescents in a group foster home. 
September 1976 - August 1977 (12 mo.):    Clinical Psychology Intern, University of Massachusetts, Student  Mental Health Services, Amherst, Massachusetts;  15-patient caseload, co-therapist for a couple, consultation to medical contraceptive clinic and to University Alcohol Project, inpatient rotation, case conferences, administrative staff meetings, and six seminars--individual psychotherapy, couples/family and group therapy, diagnostic/intake, consultation/education, and treatment of the severely disturbed patient.               
Emphasis on treatment using short term psychotherapy (12 sessions) with special attention to the selection of clients suitable for short-term psychotherapy based on diagnosis and assessment. 
1974 - 1976:   Psychologist, Florida Corrections Institution, Lowell, Florida.  One of three staff psychologists responsible for the psychological services of 500 female adult offenders, ages 14-65, which included all types of criminal offenses.  Short-term and long-term individual and group psychotherapy, crises intervention, psychodiagnostic testing and evaluation, consultation, and supervision of practicum students in their individual and group work.  Supervisor Dr. V. Palmer.
